I'm Martha, business owner, advisor and mentor

I know what it’s like to build a business from scratch because I’ve done it myself. I’ve built two businesses through clever digital marketing.

In 2023 I was awarded Consumer Businesswoman of the Year at the Great British Businesswomen Awards. I’m on the British Library Advisory Council, which advises their board and am an Ambassador for their Business & IP Centre.

Wherever you are on your start-up journey, I have been there. I know how hard it can feel at times, but I also know how rewarding it can be when things start to click.

My story

At the age of 29 I was a Business Director at a large FTSE 100 company, but I longed to do something more creative. So, one day I walked in with my resignation letter in my hand and started an e-commerce stationery business in my bedroom.

Over 10 years I grew that business, Martha Brook, into the award-winning, multinational brand it is today. I learnt so much, so as well as running my product business, I advise businesses big and small, particularly on e-commerce, all things digital marketing and business strategy.

Why am I doing this?

I had a life-changing year between 2022-2023 when my dad passed away, I had a big milestone birthday (I’ll let you guess that one!) and my daughter was born after a tough fertility battle that included seven rounds of IVF.

My dad never got the chance to do the things he planned to do and it made me realise how important it is to live life right now. I felt like I’ve been gifted a second chance, a new decade, and I wanted to do something to help people. So, in 2024 I set up Business Secrets Club.
